Founders’ Statement
The Richardson Family
The Antowaine Richardson Foundation was created in honor of our beloved patriarch, Antowaine Richardson—a gifted athlete, artist, mentor, and community servant whose life embodied resilience, creativity, and purpose.
Antowaine (or Towaine as he was affectionately referred to by his wife Sheila and simply Dad to us kids) understood firsthand the discipline required to excel in athletics, the vulnerability and power of artistic expression, and the importance of guidance for young people finding their way. Later in life, as he navigated serious health challenges, we witnessed how quickly talent, opportunity, and stability can be disrupted without adequate support systems in place.
This Foundation exists to be the support our beloved husband and father believed every young athlete and artist deserves—especially during moments of adversity. Our goal is to uplift, encourage, and provide meaningful resources so young people are not defined by barriers, but empowered to rise beyond them.
The Antowaine Richardson Foundation is not only a tribute to Towaine’s legacy—it is a living commitment to carry his spirit forward through compassion, access, and inspiration.
Sincerely,
Sheila, LaShanda, Candice and Antowaine Richardson, Jr.
